What do we check during an MOT test?
Brake Check
Brakes are very important safety components and they must be kept in full working condition to pass the MOT. This includes the handbrake / parking brake which must work and hold the car firmly, even on a steep incline.
Wheels & tyres
All four wheels of the vehicle will be examined for damage or cracks. Testers will also check the tyres for cuts and bulges to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive on the road.
Lights check
All lights must be working correctly, this including the headlights, tail lights, indicators (this includes hazard warning lights), side lights, fog lights and break lights.

This includes seats & seat-belts, exhaust and emissions, doors & openings, bodywork, horn, steering, window & mirrors and tow bar and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
